Hi guys!

Happy Friday. You excited for the weekend? I am because I am going to spend all my free time reading because I am going through a binge of paperbacks at the moment.
I can’t January is over already! I feel like the year has only begun and 1/12 of it has gone already. I’ve said this a few times but since I added some more personal touches such as my movie/tv/music favourites, these posts have shot up as some of my favourites to write. I we still have a few days of January left after this post goes up and I want to try and fit in another book or two before February starts but this is the only day I can post this that fits around other things I need to post and my schedule so I am doing it now and I will add any other reads I finish onto February’s list. Currently Reading:

Like I said at the start I have a few books that I wanted to read before the end of the month. I am currently 140 pages into A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. So far I’m really enjoying it. It’s really giving me beauty and the beast retelling vibes. So I hope that I’ll finish it today and start on the next in the series. I can definitely see why it’s loved because the writing is fun and the story is really building nicely.

Music Faves:

I still listened to John Moreland all month. So again he plays a big part on this month’s music faves. You need to give him a listen if you are into country. I have some other music likes this month but not really much that jumped out to me.

TV/Movie Faves:

I watched quite a bit of tv this month and I started some new great shows and got some second seasons of old faves so yeah it was a good tv month.

Bridgeton – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Enola Holmes – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Rewatch)
The Great Pottery Throwdown (Season 4) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Death in Paradise (Season 10) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Bones – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Rewatch)

The Masked Singer UK (Season 2) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Taskmaster – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Rewatch)
New Tricks – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(Rewatch)
Fate: The Winx Saga – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Alan Davis: As Yet Untitled – ⭐⭐⭐⭐(Rewatch)

Youtube Faves:

I haven’t watched much YouTube this month other than ASMR to help me sleep because most of my free time has either been reading or watching tv. If you guys want some ASMR recs just ask because I watch A LOT!

Favourite Blog Post of the Month:

For once I actually made quite a bit of time to check out some other amazing blogs. So here are some that I’ve been enjoying a lot or that were new to me this month were:
Twisted in Pages – her reviews are incredible! I read them even if I have no interest in reading the book – they’re just that fun!
Carry a Big Book – They have such an awesome aesthetic on their blog and I love their teaser Tuesday posts.
Lou’s Book Stuff – Louise was a new find for me this month and I love her stuff. She is super sweet – plus she loves stardew valley like me haha! Her reviews are simple and sweet and she does some fun bookish memes.
Ohsrslybooks – I’ve been reading her posts for a while. She read 162 books last year so if that isn’t inspiring I don’t know what is! She writes some awesome reviews for those books too!
Reading Parental –
I actually used one of Lorryn’s amazing post ideas this month and that is how I found her. Her Books I didn’t like in 2020 was super fun and original and I had so much fun ranting about the books I didn’t like. Since finding that post I have read quite a few of her posts not as many as I would have liked but that’s always the way – too many blogs to love and not enough time.
TheBookishKitten I only stumbled across this blog last night, or more acuratley she found mine. And it was love at first read. I love that all her posts start with a meow! I mean could it get any cuter?

My favourite posts of my own this month was probably my January Bullet Journal spreads or my Let’s Get Chatting…#7 post because it was so nice to just have a bit of a chat with you all.

Favourite Thing This Month:

I have two favourites this month – firstly the new theme for my blog. I have swapped up my colour scheme on my blog almost every year I have had it.
2017 and 2018 was pink and yellow.
2019 was blue.
2020 was yellow and green.
So for 2021 I wanted to go for something a little darker. So I went with a burgundy theme and I love it. It’s a really nice change. I don’t know how much I will love it in the middle of summer but it fits really nice with the wintery weather I’m currently experiencing.

My other favourite this month was my Chrome cast that I got for Christmas. I have been using it non-stop. It’s amazing. If you have been thinking of getting one, it is so great. It’s really helped me not to use my laptop as much for watching things which has in turn helped my eyes and my headaches.

So that’s it for this month’s wrap up. I hope you enjoyed this and that you are all safe and healthy ❤ And I hope you have a great day and weekend and I will see you on Monday for my February TBR!

What have you been up to this month?
What was the best book you read?
What are you most excited for next month?

  1. Wow, a really impressive month!! Congrats on reading 15 books and I’m glad you loved the Shadow and Bone trilogy so much! I enjoyed the first two but had issues with the last one myself 🙈 Hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend of reading, and have a great February! 💛

    1. Thanks!! I was super proud. I really liked the first two books also and the last one wasnt what I expected. I wasn’t disappointed per say but also I definitely would have been happier with a different ending. It was just sort of meh if that makes sense.

  2. See you mentioned The Great Pottery Throwdown – I am just loving watching that right now. That alongside Landscape Artist of the Year makes for a wonderfully relaxing tv night!

  3. Aahhh first of all, thank you so, so much for including me in the favorites list! 🥺 Honestly, it means a LOT!! 💖💖

January sure did fly really fast 🤔

And wow, 15 books a month is really impressive!

I will have to check out all the books you’re read in this month! I haven’t heard many of them 🤔 I hope you end up loving A Court of Thorns and Roses 🥺

Love Story is one of my favorites from Taylor Swift! 😍😍

I am not much of a series fan but I want to watch Bridgeton soon! I want to know the secret of how you manage and balance your time so well? 👀🥺 For me, I either read a lot and ignore other things like, say, assignments 😣 or watch the latest episode of an anime and not read anything for a day 😳

I love your blog theme 🥺😍😍

This month I’ve managed to read 5 books so far and trying to push it to 7 by finishing my current read, Me Before You, and finishing the audiobook for Deep Work 🤔 As far my favorite, I think I’ll end up loving Me Before You over Happy Singles Days. But in case I don’t finish that this month(which I hope I’ll), it’ll be Happy Singles Day!

    1. I love your blog so I wanted to shout about it 🤗

Thanks, I never usually manage to read that much but I was on a bit of a binge this month.

I finished ACOTAR last night and moved onto Mist and Fury today, I’ve nearly finish it already. I literally can’t put it down!

Taylor Swifts old country stuff is some of my favorite songs of all time.

I have no idea how I balance it. Usually i am terrible at it, but something about 2021 has me being better at it i think.

What was the last anime you watched? Im looking for a new one.

I’ve never read me before you but i cried at the movie 😂 ive never heard of happy singles day but if you liked it then ill need to check it out!

      1. Thank you so much! 🥺💖💕

        I see 👀

Wow! Already done with two books 😍 I should get started reading SJM seriously 🥺🤔

Mine too! What’s you all time favorite song of hers?

True, I have to agree to that 🤔 I’ve been better at reading this year, too, so far!

I am currently watching Black Clover and also been watching Ore Monogatari occasionally. What’s your favorite or last watched anime? If you like Naruto you should give Black Clover a try, though at the beginning, you’ll find Asta, the main lead, a little loud (literally), but you’ll like him 🥺

I am already crying tbh and dreading what I know will happen next…😣 I will be watching the movie soon after 😍 Happy Singles Day is a good one 🥺

Also 👀 sorry about these big blog post sized comments 😛😂

        1. I highly recommend SJM. ACOTAR is amazing. I am nearly finished the last one and I know it’s going to make me cry so badly haha.

I think my favourite song is White Horse probably.

My favourite anime is probably Maid Sama and I started Fushigi Yuugi but I didn’t finish it because I got busy with uni. I need to get back to it because it was great.

I should be apologising for my mamoth replies haha

          1. If you’re recommending, I should get to it ASAP! 🤔👀 Ahhh, now I am very curious! I hope I can pick it up soon 🤔

I love it’s lyrics! 😍😍😍 I used to love her songs, but now, I just don’t feel that magic 🤔

I need, need to watch Maid Sama!!! I’ve never heard of Fushigi Yuugi…I am looking it up rn 👀 I get what you mean, the same happened to me… because of uni, I just stopped watching anime but ever since this lockdown situation, I’ve gotten fully back into both anime and reading. I hope you can get back to it 🥺

Nah, please don’t apologise! I like talking to you but I hope my comments don’t bother you 🥺

            1. Ive owned it for ages but never read it and i finally got around to them and loved them.

I still live listening to them but I think its nostalgia more than anything.

Maid Sama is amazing. I forgot to say i also adore Special A. Thats a great anime too.

I like talking to you too. Ans you’re comments dont bother me at all 🤗🤗

              1. I am glad you’re loving them! 🥺I’ve heard mixed things about SJM but hey, unles I try her book I won’t know if I’ll myself like them or not 🤔

                True that! 🤔

I am adding both Fushigi Yuugi and Special A to my watch list! Fushigi Yuugi sounds really interesting! 😍😍😍 And I think I’ll be watching Maid Sama next 🤔

                Good to know! 🥺💖💕

                  1. Then I’ll definitely love it 😍 I love romance 😍😍🥺

Actually, We love Romance 😂😍 I am always in search for romance animes 👀 Though I seem to enjoy Shonen animes a lot more, I often wander around YouTube trying to find a good Shoujo animes, so any Shoujo animes recommendations are really wanted 🥺

                    Liked by 1 person

                    1. Look at us with our romance obsession. Practically twins hahaha!

I love shoujo animes too! Maid Sama is shoujo so thats obviously a fave but some of the other shoujos i like are:
                      Ouran High School Host Club
                      Akatsuki No Yona
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (or snow white with the red hair is the English translation i think)
                      Soredeko Seki wa Utsukushii
Oh and Special A like I said before

                      Liked by 1 person

                    2. Yes! 😍

I’ve watched only few Shoujos so far so these all are definitely some I’ll be watching and expect future (*ahem* spam) comments about these anime 👀 Do you usually watch more than one anime at a time? 🤔 Oh, and read more than one book? Just curious 🥺

                      Liked by 1 person

                    3. 😂😂 your comments definitely aren’t spam! I don’t have many people to chat anime with so I love this.
I only watch one anime at at time and usually I’d say the same with books, but I now usually have a book that I’ve chosen to read myself (for example it’s currently Shiver by Maggie Stievfater) and then I have the book that I have to read my my uni classes that week.
                      What about you?

                      Liked by 1 person

                    4. I hope I am not 😛 Neither do I! So it’s lovely that I found you! 🥺 Ah! I’ve wanted to reading Shiver too. I am a werewolf romance fan 😛 I hope you enjoy it and I really want to know what you think of it.

For me, I usually watch more than one anime at a time, one usually a shoujo and one shonen, but tbh it’s hard keeping track of them… sometimes, I get distracted by new anime and tend to forget the ones I was supposed to watch 😅 And reading – I used to pick up books randomly. Now, I am trying to stay a bit organized and plan books I want to read. For example, for this month, like last month, I have picked four books I’d like to get to but since, I am a slow reader, I tend to take this TBR lightly.

                    5. I love werewolf romances too! Or just shifter ones in general. I definitely will tell you what I think once I’m done. Im about 100 pages in at the moment and its going well but theres not much plot outside their romance yet.

I was never big into following a TBR until I started making them for my blog and I definitely try to follow them more but its never set in stone.

                      Liked by 1 person

                    6. Ah, yes I love other shifter romance too 😍 I see 🤔👀

Me neither! I do make a lose TBR but not planning to post them on blog any time soon. Though, I’ve observed that when I tend to mention things on my blog, I try my best to work towards it, so maybe in the future I will be posting them 🤔

                    7. I definitely recommend it. Having it written down in a notebook or on my blog always makes it feel more achievable and makes me want to read them more

  4. It looks like you had an awesome month for reading!

That’s pretty neat how you change your blog’s theme and color scheme every year. The burgundy color is rather lovely!

    1. Thanks! I don’t know what’s come over me. Usually I struggle to read 4 books in a month let alone 15 but I guess I just got a good month
