August Wrap Up 2020

Hi guys!

It’s time again for my monthly wrap up! I can’t believe we are already in September! How crazy is that right? I don’t know about you guys but January only feels like it was a few weeks ago; and yet it also feels like four years so who knows.
But anyway, I love writing my wrap ups so I’m just going to get into things.

Books I Read: 5
Books I Read that weren’t on my TBR: 2

Currently Reading:

I’ve not actually picked up anything new yet but I plan to start reading Ghosts by Dolly Alderton tonight so I am counting it as a currently reading haha.

Music Faves:

I didn’t listen to much music this month and when I did it was from all my normal playlists so not a lot of new stuff to list this month. There is a couple Youtube Mixes on the list because I’ve just been listening to loads of things by those artists and nothing in particular.

TV/Movie Faves:

Just like music, I have been using them kind of like a comfort blanket – going back to loads of things I love so a lot of rewatches. I haven’t watched Criminal Minds much because it’s coming to the end and I’m not ready for it to end.

The Umbrella Academy (Season 2) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Criminal Minds – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Death in Paradise (Rewatch) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Last Kingdom – ⭐⭐⭐
Sugar Rush Extra Sweet – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hamilton (Rewatch) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Call the Midwife (Seasons 4-7) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
NCIS (Rewatch) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lie to Me (Seasons 1-2) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Miranda (Rewatch) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lucifer (Season 5) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Gossip Girl (Season 1) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Haven (Rewatch) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Youtube Faves:

I’ve not watched much youtube this month. I’ve loved TwoSetViolin for a while but I’ve been loving rebinge watching at the moment. Other than that I’ve just been watching more ASMR. Again, nothing really new here this month.

Favourite Blog Post of the Month:

My favourite blog post I did this month was my Netgalley Top Tips Post. I was just super happy with how it turned out as well as the interaction it got from you amazing folks! I love trying to find new tips to help with things so it’s always great to hear that they actually do help.

The other blog post that I absolutely adored this month was Dating Tips for Book Nerds by A Book Owl’s Corner. Seriously you need to read this. It had me in stitches. I’m always talking about her blog so if you haven’t checked her out yet then you are missing out! How she comes up with such amazing and original ideas is unbelievable.

Favourite Thing This Month:

At the start of the month there was the Betfred World Snooker Championships 2020. I love snooker so this was a big thing for me. There’s nothing like watching them play. It is just so impressive. Sadly the final wasn’t as tense as I would have liked but it was still great fun to watch.
I’ve also been busying myself by learning French. When I was younger my French was actually rather good but I’ve let it slip and I want to get it back. It’s also been a really nice way to get my brain back into the studying/learning head-space before Uni starts up at the end of next month.
Lastly, I have started working on my knitted blanket. I’m making it in squares kind of like a quilt and then I’ll sew them together at the end. I’ve finished 5 squares so only like 25 left to go hahaha!

So that’s it for this month’s wrap up. I hope you enjoyed this and that you are all safe and healthy ❤

What have you been up to this month?
What was the best book you read?
If you were to start a new hobby what would it be?

  1. I think I’ve watched the first 2 seasons of Lucifer so far and I was loving it so I don’t know why I stopped watching it. I have watched every single episode of NCIS several times. That’s one of my go to shows to rewatch as well as Bones. I have watched 12 seasons of Criminal Minds. Seasons 13-15 isn’t on Netflix yet unfortunately.

          1. US Netflix doesn’t have it either. I’ve been watching it on Amazon Prime. I actually started rewatching it this month but I’ve been struggling to get Amazon to play it sometimes so I’ve only managed to rewatch the first season so far.

                    1. I cant like or follow anyones blogs if im on their actual website, only if its through the reader. And i cant have the editor open at the same time as any other wordpress site in a seperate tab, wether its one of my own or someone elses. It really sucks

  2. I was not ready for Criminal Minds to finish either 😦 don’t you just hate it when you spend ages watching your favourite show and they end it.

  3. Aww, I’m glad you liked my “dating advice” this much! 😊 Thanks for the shoutout! ❤
And I adore TwoSet! They wouldn’t be very happy with me at the moment, though – thanks to exams, I haven’t even been practicing 40 minutes a week, much less 40 hours a day 😅😁

    1. I swear that post was incredible! My humour is pretty easy to please but that had me laughing so much. I even told my not bloggy friends to read it 😂

      1. Aww – I am honored! ❤
He would! I play violin and piano, but the combination of exams and pandemic really hasn’t been good for my practice habits 😂😅 Usually, I’d at least have orchestra to force me to play regularly, even when things get stressful, but that doesn’t really work with all the social distancing measures… I really hope we’ll be able to resume rehearsals next semester!

        1. I really did like that it was set in the 60’s! It was fun and different from what I expected. I dont really know why I didnt enjoy it as much. I cant wait for the next season though!
