Down the TBR Hole

Hey Guys!

It’s Thursday – and you know what that means! REVIEW DAY!
People who Read the Title: *cough cough* May this isn’t a review post!
Yeah…well basically, you’re right. BUTTTT…I am going away with my family for a few days and I need to pre-write a bunch of posts because I am not letting anything take away my 5 month schedule streak. PLUS… I might not have read another book yet to review so whoops. Hopefully I will get lots of reading done on this trip so I can get back to regular Thursday Review posts.

Anwaaaaaay, I thought I would try out a bookish meme that I hadn’t done before and I settled on Down the TBR Hole which was originally created by Lia at Lost in a Story but now it is done by basically every book blogger and their second aunties, cousins, dog twice removed. I am very excited to jump into the trend because there is nothing quite as satisfying as organising and decluttering. Let’s get started shall we?

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

The DUFF by Kody Keplinger

A YA romance about a girl who get’s nicknamed the Designated Ugly Fate Friend, thinks she likes one guy but turns out she liked this other guy all along!
I like Kody Keplinger and I really liked the movie…but if I’m being brutally honest with myself (which is the point of this bookish meme) I probably will never read this.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

A YA Romance about a girl who goes to France and falls in love with a guy who has a girlfriend…maybe?
Summarising these blurbs are so hard haha! This one definitely appeals to me more than the DUFF does.

Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

A YA Romance about Star-Crossed lovers from opposite sides of the tracks.
I get serious Romeo and Juliet vibes – sign me up!

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

A girl has to compete as a royal assassin and someone falls in love.
This is heard because I have heard such great things and because romance…and it takes a lot for me to resist a romance. But, if I’m being honest with myself I know that I am not really a fan of High Fantasy books like this. They take up waaay too much brain processing power for my comfort zone.

The Boy Next Door by Meg Cabot

An Adult Romance about a boy next door? Maybe?
This is both the funniest and the most bizarre and unhelpful blurb I have ever read. I am literally going off the name alone now. But, based solely on the blurb I have to keep this. It had me laughing, and if the blurb has me chuckling then I can’t even imagine how amazing the book will be.

So that’s it for my first attempt at this bookish meme. I found it so satisfying and I will definitely do it again! I decided to only do 5 this time round (I hope to do a lot more next time) so that I could just text the waters and also because I’m pre-writing a lot so sorry this is so short! Anyway, I hope you have a great day and I will see y’all tomorrow ❤
