I’m back again after a little hiatus, its still been far too long though! I have had a bit of a roller coaster month.
So quick update here if you’re interested. Firstly I was volunteering in my library so that took up a lot of time, then I had to go and get the keys for my new flat (HAPPY DANCE!! MY OWN FLAT!) and then I had to do all the boring adulty things that go with said flat, like council tax and gas and electricity and all that malarkey. And then I had my driving test which I was practising relentlessly for, and I passed!!! And then I got a my very first part-time job! (In a kilt shop, can I be more Scottish?) So I had to move up to Uni 3 weeks before term starts because of said job and there was a whole lot of faff with that..I still have no internet, I am unsure of how to work the oven, and I had to go over to my neighbours (who i have never met before at 11pm) to ask him to remove a spider from my bathroom because I am a woos who couldn’t do it myself but I am surviving….just.
If you frequent my blog often you might have noticed that I’ve started up a little thing called Did I Read What I Hauled? Well, I’ve done two of these now (One&Two) and I thought to make my life easier in the future I would start cataloguing what I buy every month book-wise, not just for those posts, also for you guys to see but mostly so maybe I can curb my spending when I see them all laid out 😂😂 I didn’t shop as much this month as I did last month (thank goodness or my bank account would hate me haha)
Any-who, let’s give this a shot!
The Lake by Annalisa Grant
At 17, Layla Weston is already starting over. Having lost both her parents and grandparents, and with nowhere else to go, Layla is moving from Florida to a small town in North Carolina to live with the only family she has left: her estranged uncle and aunt. The last five years of Layla’s life were spent appeasing her less than-loving grandmother, followed by being her grandfather’s caretaker. Growing old before her time, Layla lost her identity. Now she must learn how to allow herself to be the one cared for and loved.
Life takes an unexpected turn when Layla meets Will Meyer. His breathtaking good looks are enough to catch her eye, but his sincerity and passion are everything she needs to find the strength and confidence she lost — and lead her into love. When tragedy once again strikes Layla’s life, her hope is all but completely crushed. Through it all, Layla learns what it means to truly love and be loved.

Always You by Kirsty Moseley
Clay Preston is the most desirable guy in school, and boy does he know it! Movie star looks paired with a quarterback’s body, he’s every girl’s dream guy–but not mine. To me, he’s simply my best friend, the one who has been there as far back as I can remember. Our relationship has always been easy, playful and affectionate, but after one lost bet, and one payment in the form of a kiss, the dynamic of everything changes…
Saving Grace (Mad World #1) by Christine Zolendz
After spending over 2,000 years being a lost soul looking for the angel I was forbidden to fall in love with, I finally found him. Lucky for me he has taken up residence inside the hot body of NYC’s local bad boy, tattooed rock star, Shane Maxton. Turns out, not only is he absolutely perfect, so is the whole Grace Taylor life that I’m stuck in. The only problem is Gabriel. An archangel who wants me all to himself so he kind of kidnaps me. Now I have to find my way back and hope everything works out…
Birthday by Meredith Russo
Two kids, Morgan and Eric, are bonded for life after being born on the same day at the same time. Five Feet Apart by Rachel Lippincott
Stella Grant likes to be in control—even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.
The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon, he’ll turn eighteen and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals. Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety. It feels like punishment. What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?

One Night with Calvin by Eden Finley
Four years ago, Ryan “Hunter” Erikson fell hard for a girl who disappeared from his life after a one-night stand. Ever since that night, he’s tried to find that same connection-with many different women-but it’s a feeling that can’t be replicated. So when his roommate sets him up on a blind date and she turns up, he’s determined to not let her get away again. Sara Shaw has had a run of bad dates. A drug dealer, a married guy, a freaky sex guy. Sara seems to attract them all. None of them live up to the guy she spent one night with four years ago. He was hot, charming, funny … but also a manwhore. Sara’s determined she’s not going to be another notch on his very long belt. Again. With Sara back in his life and closer than ever, Ryan’s on a mission to win her over. He’d done it once before, he’s sure he can do it again. If only Sara would give him the chance.
So that was my purchases this month. Tell me below what you’ve bought this month. I hope you’ve had a good few weeks while I’ve been away. I can’t promise a good schedule because Uni starts next week and I might be swept off my feet with work. But hopefully I can keep the posts up. Anyway, have a great weekend and I will see you tomorrow.
