Swedgers

Wednesday’s Word of the Week: Swedgers

Meaning: Sweets/Candy

Where I Heard It: This is a gem told to me by my dad. We were trying to think of a name for a coffee shop/bookstore and there were so many bad combinations and then he said “Ledgers and Swedgers” I didn’t think it was a real word, called him out on it, googled it and he was right – it is a Scottish term for sweets that I don’t think is used anymore but it is a great word none-the-less

Pronunciation: Sss-wedge-rr-s
