The “Books Under the Tree” Tag 2018

Hi everyone,

I’m currently typing this on my phone because I’m having technical difficulties. I’m also wearing fake nails which (despite making my hands look all Christmassy) is making it rather problematic to type. So although it is only a few days away from Christmas I am not feeling the cheer because of the current situation.
But without further ado, as to not cause my fingertips any more pain, let’s get right into this tag.

1. What book would you like to find under the tree this year?

As I said repeatedly last year I don’t tend to ask for books for Christmas because I’m pretty indecisive and I swap favourite genres on a daily basis, so I can never decide what I want to ask for it. Plus, there is nothing like going to the shop and hunting through for a hidden gem yourself.

But this year I did ask for one book and that was Eve of Man by Giovanna and Tom Fletcher in paperback because I have wanted to read it for ages, but the paperback isn’t out until January so it’s an IOU for that one.

2. What is the best book you have ever received for Christmas?

I simply have to reference last year’s post here because this has not changed Miranda Hart’s Is It Just Me? Is incredible and I thoroughly recommend if you are in need of a good laugh.

3. What book gives you all the Christmas feels?

Same as last years, It’s Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. It just makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I read it.

4. What book do you plan on reading to put you in the Christmas spirit this year?

I am currently reading Ascension by Victor Dixen. And it is INCREDIBLE. I am only 200 pages in, but I already can tell this is going to be in my top reads of the year because I am so on the edge of my seat and anxious to know what happens next and I’ve not felt like this about a book in ages.
So, it’s not Christmassy per say but it has made me cheerful which has a Christmassy association.

5. What book have you read this year that you would like to throw out with the Christmas tree after the holidays?

This also has not changed. I have never hated a book more in my life than Betrayed (House of Night #2) by P.C and Kristen Cast. I’m not sure I ever will.

6. What is a book from this year that you would like to place under a friend’s tree?

Ascension by Victor Dixen because I KNOW Anna and Cara will ADORE this book series as much as I am so far.

7. Challenge: create a stack of books in which the spines alternate green and red! Share the titles.

I didn‘t do this one last year, which is dreadful. So, I will do it now:

Lament by Maggie Stiefvater
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Nemesis by Brendan Reichs
Up to No Good by Victoria Corby
Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
Obsidian by Jenifer L. Armentrout
Dreamless by Josephine Angelini

8. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. Who do you tag?

Just like last year: I will do the same and Destiny and tag anyone 1. because the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear and 2. because I did this because no-one tagged me so surely, I want to provide someone with the same excuse.

That’s this tag done for another year! I wonder how much it will have changed by the next. I hope you are all feeling much more festive than I and I will see you back here tomorrow for another Christmassy post.
