The Intimidating TBR Tag

Hiya!

Any avid book fan knows the trials and tribulations of a hefty TBR pile – I don’t know how it does it! I feel like every time I read a book 10 replace it! I found this tag on TaylorIsReading and I thought it was so cute and she was so cute so I just had to do it. Sadly I don’t know who started it so I can’t give credit there 😦 If it was you then GOOD JOB!

1. A book on your TBR pile that you haven’t finished

Matched by Allie Condie I started this one as a possible English dissertation book but then changed my mind and now it sits unloved on the shelf 😦 I promise I will return one day ❤

2. A book you just haven’t had the time to read for

All of the books ever! I’m kidding…kind of. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, my friend told me to read this last year and I still haven’t – Sorry Lucy! I really want to just reading a series is a big commitment with school and all, over the summer I will probably get to this.

3. A book you haven’t read because it’s a sequel

I don’t really get this – surely to read a sequel you must have read the first?? Is that just me? I’m going to put Every Second Counts by Sophie McKenzie because I only own the sequal I can’t read it until I get the first.

4. A book you haven’t read because it’s brand new

I’m going to say One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus, I know this isn’t extremely new but I only bought it recently so it’s new to me.

5. A book by an author you read previously but didn’t really like

The Books of Faerie by Maggie Stiefvater I want to read so badly but I really didn’t enjoy Shiver (Granted I only read a little bit) it was just so slow moving…maybe I should give that another chance too! This is on this months TBR (I am writing this in advance so maybe I have started it by the time this goes up – who knows)

6. A book on your TBR pile that your just not in the mood to read

Night Owls by Jenn Bennett, I loved Alex Approximately but for some reason this one isn’t calling to me the same.

7. A book on your TBR pile that you haven’t read because it’s enormous

All my books are about the same size around 300-400 pages so none of them really daunt me in size. My version of Oblivion by Jenifer L. Armentrout is technically three novels in one book so i’m saying that (despite having read multiple times already this one always goes back on the TBR pile)

8. A book on your TBR you bought because of the cover

Along for the ride by Sarah Dessen. Granted I loved Just Listen by her too but the cover was a big factor.

9. The book on your TBR you find the most intimidating

The ACOTAR Series by Sarah J. Maas because its meant to be so good and so many people recommend it I’m like “what if it sucks and it’s terrible after all this hype?” It’s nearing the top now….

That’s all folks, I knew my TBR was big but now it seems monstrous. What is the next book you are going to read?

Thanks and Happy Reading,
Maisy.

  1. This is such a great tag! ❤
I related to so many of your answers because having an intimidating TBR is very relatable among us, bookworms. I've read The Raven Boys, but didn't continue with the series and now a lot of time passed and I'm not sure if I'm going to ever finish the series.
    Lovely post! ❤

  2. Oblivion 😍😍

I would definitely recommend reading ACOTAR. It’s huge, but it’s incredibly addicting. I seriously need to reread it soon. I absolutely loved that series and I’m one of those odd people who was not a fan of ToG.
