The “Books Under the Tree” Tag

Hi,
You’ll never guess – it’s only another Christmas themed post for the 3 days to go marker!! Are you in the Christmas spirit yet, has it come and gone or are you waiting for Christmas eve to let it burst from within? I put my tree up on December 2nd and I havent looked back.

Anyways…I saw Destiny from Howling Libraries do this tag the other day and she tagged anyone who wanted to do it and I was internally like “THAT’S ME!”
So here it is…

1. What book would you like to find under the tree this year?

As I have said recently in another post I don’t tend to ask for books for Christmas. It’s mainly because I am indecisive and I swap favourite genres on a daily basis so I can never decide what I want to ask for it.
Plus there is nothing like going to a charity shop and hunting through for a hidden gem.
You can’t get that for Christmas so my parents tend to just promise me book shopping time. I can’t wait!!

2. What is the best book you have ever received for Christmas?

I think one of the only books I have ever received for Christmas (other than the generic annuals) was Is It Just Me by Miranda Hart.
For anyone not familiar with British comedians, I think Miranda Hart is one of the most hilarious woman in existence. She had her own sitcom and it is one of my favourite TV shows to date – It never fails to make me laugh no matter how many times i have watched it (To the point where I can resit whole episodes).
Anyway this was her first book and as an avid fan I just had to have it. I remember being so excited for it all December. Its an incredible book retelling some of her most embarrassing moments. The Poo-window-crush story is my personal fave! Totally recommend!

3. What book gives you all the Christmas feels?

It’s Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. Not only is this set at Christmas (In New York) but I got it for Christmas so it always makes me feel christamassy and I read it every year since it came out despite the fact it isn’t the most original story line or extremely advanced reading. Sometimes things just hold a place in your heart no matter what they actually consist of.

4. What book do you plan on reading to put you in the Christmas spirit this year?

Other than the first Girl Online book nothing in particular – Like I have said, I mix up the genres I read frequently so how knows what I might read tomorrow.
I did read Pink Lock Picks and Sequined Witch Hats by Carla Rehse the other day and Hinder by  Kritin Ping so maybe I am in a witchy mood.

5. What book have you read this year that you would like to throw out with the Christmas tree after the holidays?

Betrayed (House of Night #2) by P.C and Kristen Cast.
I have ranted about my hatred for the main character in this before.
Enough has been said – Out Out Damned Spot!

6. What is a book from this year that you would like to place under a friend’s tree?

There is so many I cannot choose. Top 3 would be The boy who sneaks in my bedroom window, the lux series and the lynburn legacy series. I actually lent my friend Anna book one from the lynburn legacy series so I hope she enjoys it.

7. Challenge: create a stack of books in which the spines alternate green and red! Share the titles.

That means moving from my bed….yeah not happening.
I don’t even think I own any green covered books anyway.
*Gets excited about going to buy one*

8. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. Who do you tag?

I will do the same and Destiny and tag anyone 1. because the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear and 2. because I did this because no-one tagged me so surely I want to provide someone with the same excuse.

I enjoyed that tag quite a lot. It was refreshing and nice.
I want to know what you said, comment below because I reply (I swear 😉 )

Thanks and Happy Reading,
Maisy.
