The Rapid Fire Book Tag

Rapid fire book tag.PNGHi there,

I know I posted a tag only two days ago but as I was exploring the internet for new book suggestions I stumbled upon this tag on the bibliophile girl’s blog and I loved it. It is repetitively similar to my reading habits book tag but oh well. Enjoy anyways.

The basic premise of this is you have to answer the questions with the first answer to some into your head. Hence my short answers.

1.E-book or Physical book?
I love a E-book because portability but I mean physical books will always be the best.

2.Paperback or Hardback?
Paperback all the way!

3.Online or In-store shopping?
occasionally online but predominantly In-store (That’s my favourite of the two anyways)

4.Trilogies or Series?
I don’t mind? as long as their good, i’ll read however many are presented to me.

5.Hero’s or Villains?
Hero’s (I mean I tend to back the POV and that happens to be the hero majority of the time)

6.What book do you want everyone to read?
Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jenifer L. Armentrout. (By everyone I mainly mean Bode! Hurry up and read it! But I mean everyone should read it anyway)

7.Recommend an underrated book?
The Boy who Sneaks in my Bedroom Window by Kirsty Moseley (I don’t even know how underrated this is, it was just the first thing I though of)

8.The last book I finished?
Bonds of Fire (The Bellum Sisters #2) by T. A. Grey.
I really liked it, the series is a bit raunchy for my tastes by I started it now so I have to finish it or it will annoy me, other than that I like it.

9.The last book I bought?
The Princess Bride by William Goldman; I am thinking about doing Goldman’s writing for my English dissertation this year. Also The Princess Bride is my favourite movie of all time. When I saw it was on sale too, My mind was like “As you wish”

10. The weirdest thing you used as a bookmark?
My phone probably? But I have a friend who used a packet of paracetamol as a bookmark (Silly Jennie)

11.Used books – Yes or No?
Avid readers know I am a big YES! Books for cheap, who would say no?

12. Top three favourite genres?
(Does them being under the YA genre bracket count as one or not? I’ m saying nope cause they are all YA but different plot things) Contemporary Romance, Supernatural or Fantasy (I don’t know the correct title) and Sci-Fi.

13. Borrow or buy?
Buy, all the way! I love owning a book, if i borrow it I always feel rushed to read it and don’t enjoy it as much.

14. Characters or Plot?
I kind of cheated on this one, at first I was like Characters because I have stopped reading books because I disliked characters but never because the plot was boring but then I was like, If I didn’t like the blurb of a book (Basically a summarised plot) then I won’t read the book. SO my real answer is Plot but if I’m following the rules of the Tag then Characters.

15.Long or short books?
What counts as long and short, around 300 pages whatever that is?

16.Long or short chapters?
Mix? That is the best way to create suspense and who doesn’t love suspense?

17.Name the first three books you think of…

Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy #1) by Sarah Rees Brennan; I love this book (and the whole series)

Obscured by C.M. Boers; I reviewed that a while back; I like it.

Night Owls by Jenn Bennett; I bought that a while back and it’s sitting on my TBR awaiting me getting to it finally.

18.Books that make you laugh or cry?
I cry when I laugh so…both in a way? Also I cry at nearly everything so I feel like this is unfair because I have never not cried at a book.

19.Our world or fictional world?
Our world, 100%. It makes me feel like I’m part of the story more.

20. Audio books – Yes or no?
Yes; I haven’t listened to many but what I have I have loved.

21. Do you ever judge a book by it’s cover?
Doesn’t everyone, You have to have had an impression on the book if you are to have picked it up?

22.Book to movie or Book to TV adaptations?
TV all the way! I am much more of a TV watcher than a movie buff. Plus they can fit so much more detail in because it’s spread over a longer time.

23.A movie or TV show you preferred to it’s book?

Movie- The hunger games; I couldn’t even finish the book, but I loved the first couple of films.

TV Show- Shadowhunters; I didn’t mind the book (I only read the first so far) but the TV show is just so incredible! If you haven’t watched it, do.

24.Series or Standalone’s?
Probably a series but I do love a good stand-alone occasionally.

So, that is it for this tag; I thoroughly enjoyed that, I hope you learnt some trivial and unimportant information about me. Please try this out and comment it below or email it to me because I’m interested in your answers. Also I got a cool idea for a post half-way through; my opinion on the book to TV adaptations I have seen? If you would be interested in that comment below please, thanks muchly.

I noticed that there were 24 questions once I had finished. This is both the birthday and favourite number of  my bizarre friend Keez. Happy 17th dearie.

Thanks and Happy Reading,

  1. 1) E-book or Physical book?
I’ve only ever tried physical book which i feel is much more therapeutic and its just in your hand. However e-books you can carry 100 books as there all in the kindle which makes life easier instead of carrying three physical books with you.

    2) i don’t know to be honest, it depends if i have a series and the first book i have is hardback then i would the rest of the series to be hardback. i cant choose

    3) Online or In-store shopping?
In store shopping all the way hands down. I just love walking around bookstores and seeing all the different coloured books around me.

    4) I don’t mind either, it all depends if the series is good or not. However i admit if it wasn’t that good of a series id still buy it as i’d hate it to be uncompleted on my bookshelf.

    5) Heroes or Villains?

    6) What book do i want everyone to read?
The mortal instruments series (any of the books in the series would be fine) by Cassandra Clare. That means you Maisy.

    7) Recommend an underrated book?
Girl Online by Zoe Sugg ( i feel some people wouldn’t pick this book because she is a you-tuber and had someone help her write the book however that doesn’t matter to me. in fact its one of my fave books.

    8) The Last book i finished?
Chasing the stars by Malorie Blackman. I really enjoyed this book throughout the whole book my mouth would be open as I’d be so into the book and it just leaves you asking so many questions at the end. i recommend it deeply.

    9) The last book i bought?
Dare to fall by Estelle Maskame.

    10) The weirdest thing i have used as a bookmark ?
Either my phone or a remote.

    11) Used books- yes or no?
I’m going to say no as i love when the book covers are just smooth with no bends or rips.

    12) Top three favourite genres?
i love any books with romance that is my ultimate favourite genre then probably supernatural or adventure.

    13) Borrow or Buy?
Buy. I love the whole process of walking around a bookstore choosing which book you’ll take home with you and also I quite like having a completed series or trilogy so if i borrowed someones book from a trilogy and i had one of them myself i’d want to keep it so my bookshelf looked all pretty with completed series.

    14) Characters or Plot?
I feel the same as you Maisy when you answered this question.

    15) Long or short books?
i don’t really have an opinion on this either are fine it depends what mood i’m in.

    16) Long or Short chapters?
Either, if i’m in bed and reading a book and i promise myself that the next chapter i get to ill go to sleep and usually when i say that the chapters are always very long.

    17) Name the first three books you think off…
    1. The duff by Kody Keplinger
    2. Run by Kody Keplinger
    3. children of eden by Joey Graceffa

    18) Books that make you cry or laugh?
Mortal instruments book made me both laugh and cry

    19) Our world or fictional world?
depends which story i’d be in

    20) Audio book?
I’m not that big of a fan of audio books it might be because the books that i have had listen to aren’t really my type, but its also because some of the people who do the voices for audio books are so boring. They just sound like there are having the most boring time of their life.

    21) Do you ever judge a book by it’s cover?
i probably do it too often, my friends once told me my bookshelves are full of colourful books, but that because i choose the books that have awesome covers

    22) Book to movie or book to TV adaptions?
I’m not sure about this actually as I’ve had both a mix of good and bad for both sides such as the shadowhunter series TV series is so good but the movie edition sucks, it misses half of the books and the characters don’t fit their personalities in the book.

    23) A Movie or TV you preferred to its book?
I don’t know as I’ve never had a bad experience with books that have been turned into a movie or television show.

    24) Series or standalone?
Series as i get so into the book and its sad when its just a standalone book however standalone books are great.

    1. Thanks for giving your answers too, we have a lot of similar tastes – you know what they say “great minds think alike” 😂
I love colourful book covers, a lot of YA books are predominantly black so having some colour is nice to break it up
