Last Weekly Update

Hi there,

Over the past few weeks I have learnt that weekly updates of what I have read are really boring. Either I don’t read enough to fill out an entire post so it’s really short, I combine it with nonsense to fill it out more or I don’t post it at all. So I have decided this will be my last weekly update. I will continue to post on Wednesdays, but it will be tags or reviews or anything like that (Any suggestions, please comment). I will post monthly updates, at the end of each month instead, separate from my Monthly TBR’s which I will also continue. Hope this change is fine with you all; believe me it will save you a lot of boring reading. Apologies again for not posting last Wednesday, everything just got in the way and if I’m honest I didn’t read much last week anyways.

I started the week off by reading Charlaine Harris’s Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse #1). This had been on my TBR for a while and i finally got round to it. I loved the TV show True Blood which is based on the series and this completely lived up to my expectations. The book follows a girl named Sookie and her life in the small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana. Vampires have “come out of the coffin” as a synthetic blood has been invented that keeps them alive so they no longer have to feed on humans. Sookie meets Bill Compton, a vampire attempting to “Mainstream” back into society. As their relationship grows, she is dragged into the vampire drama when Eric Northman (the vampire leader of that area, and my favourite character) discovers Sookie’s ability to read minds. It was always exciting which I was worried about considering I knew what would happen because I had seen the TV show, but their were sufficient difference that I was always kept on my toes but it wasn’t to the point where the two things were completely unrecognisable to each other. All in all I really enjoyed and would really recommend to anyone who wants some light fantasy. If you would like a more in-depth review on this series as I am currently on the second and have the next three in the series to read also, I am planning to do one once I have read more of the series; and if I remember i will come back and link that post somewhere here.

And sadly that’s all I have read the past week, as I said in another post I was away and then I was ill so reading wasn’t very high up on my agenda. I did however go to a very large used bookshop and bought quite a collection so that will probably be Friday’s video if you are interested in that. I don’t have anything planned to read this week but I am in the mood for some YA Fantasy, so I might continue with the Sookie Stackhouse Novels or I might start something different.
To conclude, I am happily saying goodbye to these very boring and nonexistent weekly posts, if you have any suggestions please comment, email or tweet me (All my information’s on the contact page) and hopefully more interesting posts are to come.
I will have a book giveaway coming soon also so stay tuned for that.

Thanks and happy reading,
Maisy.
