So, in complete contrast to last weeks post this one is going to be quite short because I didn’t even finish one book this week. I have been stuck in a reading rut and can’t force myself through it. This weeks post will mainly focus on what I am reading and what I want to read.
I am still reading New Moon (Twilight #2) by Stephanie Meyer, I haven’t progressed any since the last post. For those who don’t know (probably very few) the Twilight series follows a girl Bella who moves to the small town of forks and falls in love with a vampire named Edward and all the troubles their relationship has to endure. There is a part rooted deep inside of me that knows what is coming during this chapter. Just like any other TeamEdward fan, I can’t bring myself to read it. What I have read of New Moon so far has been just as great as the first book and I hope to push through this rough patch and finally get back to Bella and Edwards romance.
As it is currently the summer holidays and I have been in my reading rut; I have been spending an unordinary amount of time at the gym. I have found that I workout best if I am listening to an audiobook. Up until this discovery I was a big sceptic of the audiobook, so to anyone who felt the way I did I would seriously suggest working out to a book you have already read but in the audio format. This is how I have been getting my reading fill over the past week.
I have been listening to Oblivion (Lux #1.5) by Jenifer L. Armentout. I absolutely adored this series, especially Daemon’s POV and this is my third time reading/listening to this novel. I am currently on chapter 17. This had remained my favourite book series of all time for so long I can’t even remember the first time I read it. The series focus’s on Katy, a new girl to move to the neighbourhood. In need of new friends she bonds with the girl living across the road, much to the distaste with the girls brother. Many strange and unexplainable things happen to Katy, and she soon discovers the twins are not as human as they initially claim to be. The series had me by the first chapter. (For those interested I read the series; book 1,2,3 then 1.5 then 4 and I am planning on reading the 5th in September) I really can’t recommend this series enough if you are a lover of YA light fantasy/Si-fi. In particular I loved this book as Daemon was my favourite character in the series so to read it from his POV was a real treat that I enjoy going back to every so often.
So at the top of my TBR other than finished the above mentioned books is the Eclipse (Twilight #3) by Stephanie Meyer and maybe if I can get to it The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle #1) by Maggie Stiefvater; but both of these are YA fantasy as far as I am aware so these may change if I am in the mood for something more contemporary because it’s summer.
So that concludes this Weekly Post. I hope it has been beneficial, I did try to make up for the fact I have been unable to force myself into reading anything this week. I will try do better for next week.
Thanks and happy reading,
